I have been working as a wedding photographer in Austin just over two years, having moved my business from it’s original home in Scottsdale, Arizona. Since relocating I have yet to find a more beautiful and elegant location for bridal portraits than Chateau Bellevue.
Built in 1929, Chateau Bellevue is the home of the Austin Woman’s Club and is a Texas historical landmark. The art-deco exterior and beautifully adorned interior are nestled in the heart of downtown Austin in the Bremond Block, a National Register historic district. The mansion has undoubtedly played host to countless weddings and special events.
The intricate details in architecture and interior design at Chateau Bellevue are the mark of the skilled craftsmen and artisans of the era and provide the perfect backdrop for capturing amazing natural light portraiture through the large-scale windows which surround the perimeter. The antique furnishings inside add to the character and charm, as well. Of course, having a beautiful bride can’t hurt either!
Lauren’s wedding reception was hosted here as well. The unique layout of the space allowed for a seamless flow between ample interior and exterior seating for guests. The staff at Chateau Bellevue were extremely professional and eager to assist however they could. I will soon be posting my favorites from this lovely night. In the mean time, know that Chateau Bellevue is making it’s way towards the top of my favorite Austin wedding venues. It should make it to the top of yours, too. Who knows, perhaps it will be home to your own wedding.
